Slide Imaging On Web
The website Slide Imaging On Web offers support for the assisted classification of Indirect ImmunoFluorescence (IIF) images.
It is the outcome of the Slide Imaging research project, which has been supported by Das srl, and developed by Università Campus Bio-Medico (Medical Informatics & Computer Science Laboratory) and Das srl .
In this website, after user registration, you can remotely upload one or more IIF images with the corresponding positive and negative controls. You can also:
- Manage your personal image dataset for experimental purposes;
- Request automatic image classification.
The website has now the capability to classify fluorescence intensity into three classes (namely positive, border zone and negative), and in a near future will be able to recognize the staining pattern classification into five classes (homogeneous, speckled, rim, nucleolar and no pattern). The images submitted for classification must be based on the HEp-2 substrate and prepared at the 1:80 titer.
These computer tools are based on image processing and pattern recognition techniques that we have specifically developed and tailored for this task.
This website has been developed for testing and research purposes among the international community.
We hope that its use will improve the standardization level of IIF procedure, will enable an easier information sharing in the research environment, and will be used as an effective learning tool for training the medical personnel.
